Resonance of the Self

  • Sculptural Landscape Book

As well as the hands on ethic of my practice I also study the topographic relevance of our chosen home upon the make up of one’s being. This book explains both the nature and the outcomes of this work ending with the creation of a musical measurement system of the landscape, a device that produced tones responsive to the gradients of my childhood home (Uley village).

Uley was chosen to base the work as it has always felt like my home even when living 170 miles away no place has ever felt as intrinsically linked to my soul. Resonance of the self was a chance to create a series of works that would engage the viewer with a village weighted heavily with my emotional being  with out having to have this bond.
